민원 서류 발급 대행 플랫폼 ‘배달의 민원’을 운영하는 한국통합민원센터가 영문 가족관계증명서 발급 서비스에 나섰다고 3일 발표했다. 

대법원은 지난달 27일부터 영문 가족관계증명서 발급을 시작했다. 외교부와 협력을 통해 여권 정보를 증명서 발급에 활용했다. 가족관계증명서에 나오는 영문 이름 표기가 여권과 동일하다는 얘기다. 가족관계증명서는 해외 이민, 취업, 여행, 미성년자 입국심사 등에 활용된다. 지금까지 해외에 이 서류를 제출하기 위해선 영문으로 번역한 후 공증을 받는 절차를 거쳐야 했다.

국문 가족관계증명서와 다른 점이 많아 주의해야 한다. 발급 대상자 기준으로 서류를 신청하면 부모와 배우자만 확인이 가능하다. 자녀는 포함되지 않는다. 자녀가 등장하는 증명서를 원한다면 자녀별로 여러 장의 서류를 발급받아야 한다.

KICPC launches English family relationship certificate issuance service

The Supreme Court began issuing English family relationship certificates on the 27th of last month. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, passport information was used to issue certificates. There are many differences from the Korean family relationship certificate, so be careful. If you apply for documents based on the issuance target, only the parent and spouse can confirm. Children are not included. If you want family relationship certificate based on your child, you need to get multiple documents for each child.
